Most of us operate under the assumption that in order for good things to happen, we need people to think good of us. But is that really true? What about when dinner ends up on the table even though Mom is disappointed? Or when a friend shows up even after a big fight? Perhaps we don't need to manage how others see and experience us. Perhaps we simply do the best we can and that is enough. Who would you be without the story "it matters what people think of me?"
