How do we live a life conducive to genuine peace and happiness when bad things have happened and can happen again? Most of us are all too familiar with this routine: We experience some kind of loss or pain, and then we resist the future based on our fear of the past repeating itself. Over time, we learn to trust the fearful images and stories the mind presents as being real rather than acknowledge them for what they are—images and stories about a past event or an unrealized future. This week's episode shines a light on a new, potentially radical, way to negotiate fear. That is, by simply opening up to it as it is. The moment we’re open to what we fear, we can consciously free ourselves of the mind's tyranny. So, whatever your imagination presents, are you willing to meet it?
