What does the imagery of the mirror point to in terms of who and what we truly are? The mirror is an instant, effortless, unconditional “yes” to whatever appears and disappears. Like the awareness that we are, the mirror says “yes” equally to an image of beautiful nature or an image of war. That is, it reflects both without agenda or judgment. The body-mind may make commentary on or choose to condemn the violence that the mirror reflects, but all of that is just another happening in the mirror. Remember, you are not the mirror. Nor are you a separate self that peers into the mirror, taking sides for or against what appears. Could it be then that you are the one awareness: open; accepting; free of stories, violence, desire, and even the body? Just one being living as the universe.
