100. The Work maintenance plan

Are you curious about how to maintain a Work meditation practice in your daily life? Tom suggests setting aside 15 minutes in the morning to explore one aspect of The Work. For instance, you can start by noticing some moment where you had a negative reaction. Use this opportunity to get curious about and meet the negativity without the agenda of getting rid of it. Simply discover all of the beliefs that go with the negative reaction. The next day, try spending 15 minutes with the “Is it true?” and “Do I know for sure that it is true?” questions. Bring your reactions and beliefs into conscious awareness to ultimately allow them to dissolve. Over time, you will become more and more conscious of who you already are—that is, who you are without your stressful beliefs and stories. If it means experiencing life from the perspective of the “living turnarounds”—where there’s room for everything, nothing has to change, and you love and trust yourself no matter what—the time investment is really worth it.
